Discover freedom from anxiety, OCD, and more with the support of a licensed CBT therapist
CBT helps you reframe negative thoughts the moment they come up, preventing you from spiraling into anxiety or limiting self-beliefs.
For example, a friend cancels their plans with you at the last minute. Your first thought is: "They canceled plans with me because they don’t actually like me; they think I’m too high-maintenance or self-centered.”
Or maybe you are familiar with the anticipatory anxiety you experience before every major work presentation or school exam. You often think, “This will never go well,” “I’ll embarrass myself,” or “Everyone is going to find out I really don’t know anything.”
Anxiety takes over, your mind endlessly going through all the negative possibilities. You're kept awake through the night, thinking about it. This cycle happens so often that you feel near-constantly anxious.
CBT breaks this pattern at its source. You learn to catch that first negative thought and reality-check it with the help of a skilled CBT therapist. This powerful approach can free you from cycles of anxiety, low self-esteem, and more.
But it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Here's how to know if CBT might be right for you:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a powerful, evidence-based talk-therapy approach. CBT is solution focused, goal oriented, and time-limited.

At Houston Anxiety and Wellness Center, our team of expert CBT therapists use it as our go-to approach for helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, OCD, and related mental health challenges — because it's so effective.

Every client is different, but here's a birdseye view of how CBT therapy works!
During our sessions, we’ll talk through your anxious moments to uncover what thoughts may have kicked it off. Then we “reality-check” each thought, seeing how true or untrue they are.
During our sessions and at home, you’ll work on practicing noticing and reality-checking your thoughts. You will also learn and practice new skills for coping with anxiety such as relaxation, visualization, mindfulness, journaling, and problem solving.
Let’s celebrate how far you’ve come! We regularly review your goals and progress, adjusting our approach as needed. As you improve, we'll work on strategies to maintain your progress and handle future challenges.
CBT therapy sessions can be in-person at our Houston office or virtual in most of the USA.
