Anxiety and OCD in children can be tricky to recognize ↓
Every kid deserves to live like a kid...
Not like the weight of the world is on their shoulders! Here’s how working with a child anxiety therapist on our team can help:
Your child’s first session
In your child’s first therapy session, your child therapist will evaluate what’s going on for them, and create a personalized, goal-oriented plan to help.
During the intake session, you will stay with your child the entire time or you can choose a parent-only intake format.
Evidence-based treatments
Bring your child back for regular sessions with your child therapist, either in Houston or online, where we’ll use methods like CBT, ACT, or ERP to help them overcome their anxiety.
Back to being a kid!
As your child uses the techniques and strategies we show them, the weight of anxiety begins to lift. Our goal is to get your child out of therapy and into living joyfully — like every kid deserves!
Parents: you’re not alone and this isn’t your fault
You didn’t mess up. You’re not doing it wrong. Your child will be okay. And you no longer have to figure it out by yourself.

It’s normal to have a million questions about child therapy
Let’s see if we can answer some of them for you right now!
What ages do you work with?
We work with all children, ranging from as young as toddler-aged to well into middle school. If your child is a teen, check out our teen therapy page for specific information.
How involved will I be in my child’s therapy?
You'll be very involved in your child's therapy journey. For younger children, parents are typically included in most sessions. For older children, we'll have regular check-ins with you to discuss progress and strategies you can use at home. We believe parent involvement is important, so we'll teach you skills to support your child between sessions and beyond therapy.
What happens in a child therapy session?
We'll work on identifying emotions, learning coping skills, and gradually facing fears. Sessions may involve discussing situations that trigger anxiety or childhood OCD and developing strategies to manage them. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where your child feels heard and understood and excited to take risks again.
How do you treat anxiety in children?
We use evidence-based approaches to treat anxiety, depression, and OCD in children, including…
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

- Comprehensive Behavioral Model for Hair Pulling & Skin Picking (CoMB)
- Habit Reversal Training (HRT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Social Skills Training
- Executive Functioning Coaching
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Many of these involve…

- Gradually exposing children to anxiety-provoking situations in a safe, controlled way
- Working with parents to create a supportive home environment, especially with SPACE therapy

- Their anxiety interferes with daily activities or schoolwork
- They're avoiding things they used to enjoy
- You notice significant changes in their behavior or mood
- Their worries seem excessive or unrealistic
- They're experiencing physical symptoms with no medical cause
- Your child asks for help or expresses feeling overwhelmed
- You've tried to help on your own but the anxiety persists or worsens
What are your rates?
The cost of your sessions is dependent on your specific child OCD therapist or child anxiety therapist. Initial diagnostic evaluations with our licensed clinicians range from $215-$330 and follow up sessions range from $160-$255.
Advanced Doctoral Clinicians and Counseling Interns are able to provide services at a much reduced rate ($100-$130). All of our Doctoral Clinicians and Counseling Interns receive weekly supervision by fully licensed psychologists or counselors that are familiar with your goals and treatment plan. Working with a doctoral clinician or counseling intern is essentially like having two therapists for the price of one! We believe that finances should never get in the way of receiving excellent, evidence based care.
Do you take my insurance?
In order to ensure we offer the best, personalized care without restrictions, we are not on any insurance panels.
While we don’t work directly with any insurance panels, we are able to provide our clients with superbills so that you can apply to receive reimbursement directly from your insurance provider. Many of our clients receive up to 50%-80% reimbursement!
If you plan to seek reimbursement, please let us know prior to scheduling your initial appointment so that we can ensure you’re matched with a therapist whose specific license is eligible for insurance reimbursement.
