Alexa Gonzalez, M.S., is a doctoral clinician and current 3rd year Clinical Neuropsychology Ph.D. student at the University of Houston. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior from Mount Holyoke College, M.S. in Psychology from Villanova University.
Alexa's therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness techniques. Through the application of these evidence-based practices, she focuses on the unique needs of each client. By integrating these methods and maintaining a collaborative and flexible approach, Alexa tailors her therapeutic practice to ensure that each client, whether struggling with anxiety or OCD for example, receives the most effective and personalized care possible.
Alexa enjoys weight training, taking her dog on long walks through Hermann Park, and trying out new cookie recipes.
